Rotary’s mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace under the motto Service Above Self.
Each year the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island offers educational grants up to $5,000 or more to graduating seniors living and/or attending school on Bainbridge Island.
Our grants are competitively awarded to students who demonstrate: 1) a commitment to community service, and 2) leadership skills.
Besides a minimum GPA, academic record is not a consideration. Financial need is not a consideration in determining who receives a grant, but in some cases may affect the size of the grant awarded.
Who is eligible: High school seniors graduating in the spring, who maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and who live and/or attend school on Bainbridge Island.
Application requirements: To be considered for the scholarships, all of the following must be received by the application deadline:
- Completed Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island Community Service Education Grant Application.
- Two letters of recommendation from community leaders, teachers, or others familiar with your community service activities.
- Unofficial copy of your most recent high school transcript.
- [Optional] Supporting documents, such as certificates, letters of merit, awards, etc.
Letters of recommendation may be included with the application or transmitted separately. However, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure letters of recommendation are received by Rotary by the deadline.
Applications incomplete AFTER March 25, 2017 will not be considered. Please limit your total packet to a maximum of 12 pages.

Application Deadline: Complete applications must be received by Rotary on or before March 25, 2017.
Interviews: Finalists will be notified and scheduled for a 30-minute interview. Finalists will be notified on or about April 14, 2017. Interviews will take place April 22, 2017.
Because of tight timelines and the need to schedule multiple interviews, alternate interview dates are NOT available.
